Our body has senses that include understanding of sight, touch, smell, sound, taste, movement, the awareness of our body in space.
These sensory inputs coming from the environment need proper processing , organization and interpretation to leads to desirable function, learning and execution of appropriate behavior. This process is called sensory integration.
Lack of sensory integration leads to inappropriate respsonse to the stimuli and the environment leading to behavior issues and causes delay in learning and motor planning.
With sensory integration therapy, we aim at providing means for the child to understand, adjust and interpret the sensory inputs to help the child function appropriately in any environment
Sensory Integration therapy is delivered in the following conditions
- Sensory Processing Disorders
- Poor Tolerance of Sensory Stimuli
- Poor Self-Regulation
- Behavior and Social Difficulties
- Poor Motor Coordination and Motor Planning
